Creative Grief Support for Individuals & Groups
Grief is a highly personal response to change - any change, because every change involves a loss, some greater and felt more intensely, some lesser and barely realized...Your grief is your love turned inside-out. That is why it is so deep...When your sadness seems bottomless, it is because your love knows no bounds.

Most of us living in Western culture have been taught or have absorbed the notion that grief is an illness. In this view, grief is seen as something undesirable that we need to "recover" from. The perspective that grief is a human and healthy phenomenon that will naturally transform itself is foreign to us.

An alternative and more empowering understanding is to look at grief as a learning process. When we lose someone or something we deeply love, we feel lost and groundless and question our previously held beliefs. We will never be the person we were before the loss, and we must learn to reinvent ourselves and adapt to our "new normal." Since each of us is a unique individual, and each of our relationships is also unique, there is no right way or wrong way to engage with grief. There is only your way. While grief is a natural and normal process, many of us can benefit from the support of someone who understands the difficulty of living forward after a deeply felt loss.

Individual creative grief support sessions are available for those who have experienced any type of change, loss, or transition, including death of a loved one, illness, end of a significant relationship, separation & divorce, death of a companion animal, job loss & retirement, relocation, empty nest, and more. I recommend an initial complimentary 30 minute session to see if we will be a good fit to work together. Appointments are offered in person, by phone, or by Skype.
I am also available for bereavement group facilitation, personalized ritual & memorial service consultation, supportive circle gatherings, and grief education.
With expertise in the realms of healing, spirituality, and expressive arts, in addition to my own life experiences, I am uniquely qualified to companion others who journey with loss. Please fill out contact form below or call 607-727-5332 for scheduling.

Please note: Grief is the natural human response to loss. These sessions are not psychotherapy, nor are they intended to be a substitute for those needing the help of a licensed professional mental health counselor. The work we do will facilitate the cultivation of our inborn creativity and resiliency as we journey with loss.
